205 (two-o-five) is a rock band formed in 1996 in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro. The group consists of Thiago Franco (guitar and vocals), Leonardo Valdanini (bass), and Vitor Cortines (drums). The band emerged from the local rock scene and has continued to develop their music over the years.

Ready or Not
Unlike “All I Have,” the first EP from 205, which was crafted and refined through live repetition during rehearsals, their second EP, “Ready or Not,” was created entirely through individual parts that were later combined—without physical contact between the band members. The songs have their roots in the period of social isolation in 2020. The confinement brought inspiration and space for the compositions to mature. A second characteristic of this work was the band’s increased proficiency in recording and mixing techniques, allowing them to explore specific parts of the songs during the creative process. Thirdly, it was recorded in Paris at Sodasound Studio, a completely new territory for 205 with its own challenges and opportunities. Finally, the recording process was live, with the instrumental base being recorded all at once in a few takes, bringing a special, authentic energy to the band’s sound.
